Kid's Day is a NOAA Tradition

Thursday, April 26, 2001, is the 9th Annual national "Take Our Daughters to Work Day", a day designed by the Ms. Foundation for Women. In keeping with our tradition of inclusion, NOAA is sponsoring "Bring a Child to Work Day," because we strongly believe that the event should be open and advocated for all young people.

From 1993-1998, individuals brought their daughters (and sons), neighbors, grandchildren, etc. to work at NOAA. A few groups within the various NOAA Line Offices hosted localized activities in honor of the day. In April 1999, the first NOAA-wide event was held. This event was well attended and included both boys and girls from ages 4-19. In April 2000, attendance was even higher and eleven different activities were offered by the Line Offices.
